Industry Screenings

23 - 24 Nov

The Industry Screenings are the work-in-progress and rough cut platform of Porto Industry Days, dedicated to the private presentation of film and audiovisual projects of all genres and durations, at an advanced stage of post-production.

As part of Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival, the Industry Screenings create a reserved professional context to support projects in the final stages of editing or post-production, promoting direct contact with programmers, sales agents, distributors, platforms, broadcasters, consultants and other invited industry professionals.

Over two days, the selected projects are presented in private sessions, followed by professional discussion and a personalised agenda of one-to-one meetings. The aim is to support the definition of premiere, sales, distribution, finishing and international circulation strategies.

Participation in the Industry Screenings, as a restricted-access professional activity, does not constitute a public premiere of the projects presented.

Each selected project will have a total presentation of up to 20 minutes, including a brief introduction by the creative and/or production team, the screening of representative excerpts, preferably up to 15 minutes, and, where applicable, a brief moderated conversation or comment. The programme also includes a mandatory preparatory session, a professional masterclass and individual meetings with invited professionals.

Submit project

WHO CAN APPLY

Applications may be submitted by independent production companies, filmmakers or legally authorised representatives of film or audiovisual projects connected to countries participating in the Creative Europe MEDIA strand.

Projects of all genres and durations are accepted, including fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, hybrid or other contemporary forms of audiovisual creation.

Up to 12 projects will be selected at post-production, rough cut or work-in-progress stage. Projects must present edited material that is sufficiently developed to allow a clear assessment of their narrative, aesthetic and cinematic approach.

APPLICATION MATERIALS

Whenever possible, the application should include a full rough cut. If the project does not yet have a complete version, a representative excerpt with a recommended minimum duration of 20 minutes may be submitted.

All audiovisual materials must include English subtitles, except when the work is entirely spoken in English. The screener link and password must remain valid until at least 31 December 2026.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The selection will take into account the quality, maturity and consistency of the submitted audiovisual material, as well as the project’s potential for international circulation, the clarity of the needs presented, the feasibility of completion, the premiere strategy and the project’s suitability for the professional context of the Industry Screenings.

The Industry Screenings are particularly suited to projects seeking strategic support for world premiere, festivals, sales, distribution, platforms, finishing support or international circulation.
