Porto/Post/Doc presents a new session of Porto/Pod/Cast, dedicated to the central theme of this year’s festival edition: The Time of a Journey. Taking place this Saturday, October 18th, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Vícos Bonfim, this conversation aims to reflect on the essential condition of the traveler — the driving force of humanity since its beginnings, through displacements, returns, and discoveries. At a time when borders are rising and cities are transforming, this discussion invites us to view the journey as a metaphor for human freedom and curiosity, but also as an expression of our escapes, reunions, and cultural intersections.
In this session, Sara Barros Leitão, director and actress, David Pontes, journalist and director of Público, and Dario Oliveira, film programmer and festival director, come together to discuss the role of cultural agitators — those who, through theater, journalism, and cinema, nurture spaces of freedom, critical thought, and human rights.
Between stories from the stage, the newsroom, and the cinema, we will seek to understand the state of things: the city being gentrified, the journeys born from war or desire, and the transformative power of art and words.
A conversation about movement — geographical, emotional, and political — that continues to define who we are and the world we inhabit.
