The film Painéis do Porto, by António Reis and César Guerra Leal, joins the integral retrospective devoted to the work of the Portuguese director and Margarida Cordeiro. Shot in 1963 and with about 16 minutes, this short film is the first film made by António Reis and a rarity of national cinematography. The theatrical screening will therefore be a unique opportunity to see this film.

Painéis do Porto is a documentary about the city and its azulejos, so well known by Reis, born in Valadares, Vila Nova de Gaia. Simultaneously poetic and political, realistic and lyrical, ethnographic and expressive, the work of António Reis and Margarida Cordeiro has an absolutely unique place in the history of Portuguese cinema, raising various issues such as temporality, collective memory, landscape and territory. In Porto, Jaime (1974), Trás-os-Montes (1976), Ana (1985) and Rosa de Areia (1989) will also be screened in a program that reaffirms the importance of context of a country given to the dictatorship and questions the way in which his work would influence what is now the Portuguese cinema. This retrospective is held in partnership with the Cinemateca Portuguesa - Museu do Cinema.

Dedicated to the theme Fictions of the Real, the seminar Forum of the Real will also include a panel exclusively dedicated to the work of the duo of filmmakers. "Revisitar Reis Cordeiro". In this edition, the forum proposes a debate around the intersections between the fiction and documentary records.

Porto/Post/Doc takes place between November 24 and December 2 at Teatro Municipal do Porto - Rivoli, Cinema Passos Manuel, Cinema Trindade, Planetário do Porto - Centro Ciência Viva, Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto and Escola das Artes – UCP.
