Essays on the Present: The Medium-Length & Short Film Competition

by Porto/Post/Doc / 20 10 2025

The International Medium-Length & Short Film Competition presents five programs offering a vibrant overview of contemporary cinema. The films tackle political, artistic, and thematic issues - from historical memory to identity, from trauma to resistance - often employing experimental languages and an essayistic style. Oscillating between archive and fiction, documentary and animation, each program forms an essay on the present and the boldness of a new generation.
