In 2018, Canal 180 reinforces the partnership with the Porto/Post/Doc festival, which takes place between November 24 and December 2, in several venues in the city (Teatro Municipal do Porto - Rivoli, Cinema Passos Manuel, Cinema Trindade, Maus Hábitos, Faculty of Fine Arts – University of Porto).

In this edition, the media platform supports the Competition Cinema Novo, section of the festival dedicated to films made by students in Portugal (Portuguese or not) and Portuguese students abroad.

The winner of the Cinema Novo Competition by Canal 180 will have the opportunity to travel to Berlin and join the iconic Berlinale International Film Festival, the perfect place to see, learn and discover more about the film industry.

For now, Canal 180 extends the deadline (which ended on September 15) for the submission of films until September 29. The submission is free and the only requirements are: have been produced between 2017 and 2018 and take less than 40 minutes. Submission can be done through the FilmFreeway platforms, using the magical word: CANAL180.

The Cinema Novo Competition is part of the extended Educational Project of Porto/Post/Doc, which promotes training activities in the area of cinema aimed at various age groups (from kindergarden to higher education).
