Code of Conduct for the Festival and the Association

Porto/Post/Doc – Film & Media Festival reaffirms its commitment to creating an inclusive, safe, respectful, and inspiring environment for all individuals involved in all its initiatives, including industry activities and all sessions organized by the association throughout the year. We regard cinema as a privileged space for dialogue and collaboration, where active listening, mutual respect, and appreciation of diversity are fundamental principles.

All participants, representatives of partner institutions, and team members, by engaging in activities promoted by the festival and the association, explicitly commit to respecting and complying with this Code of Conduct.

CORE PRINCIPLES – PROFESSIONALISM, DIVERSITY, AND RESPECT

Porto/Post/Doc deeply values diversity, inclusion, and equity, promoting a culture of welcome, openness, and consideration for all people in every context and interaction.

We do not tolerate offensive language, discriminatory behavior, or harmful actions.

We ensure equal treatment for everyone, rejecting stereotypes, prejudices, or any form of favoritism, while promoting equal opportunities.

We prioritize the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of all participants, not tolerating any form of harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or violence.

We call for professional, respectful, and inclusive behavior in all interactions, recognizing and respecting physical, emotional, cultural boundaries, and different communication styles.

We are committed to providing an open and safe space for all voices to be heard and valued, encouraging a constructive and empathetic exchange of ideas, without interruptions or disregard.

Any comments or criticism must always be constructive, specific, respectful, and solely focused on content and ideas, avoiding personal attacks.

VIOLATIONS OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT

The following are considered serious violations of this code:

· Hate speech and discrimination: Incitement or demonstration of violence, discrimination, or marginalization based on race, gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, disability, age, or any other personal characteristic or identity.
· Offensive language and behavior: Insults, derogatory jokes, defamation, threats, or humiliation, whether in-person or through digital media.
· Xenophobia and discriminatory ideologies: Expressions or behaviors that promote the idea of superiority or inferiority of specific groups based on identity or cultural affiliation.
· Harassment: Including unsolicited approaches, inappropriate or intimidating messages, physical or digital stalking, and invasive behaviors.
· Physical or verbal aggression: Any aggressive, violent, or intimidating behavior that endangers the integrity and safety of the festival environment.

REPORTING AND COMMUNICATION OF INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR

We encourage all participants who witness or experience inappropriate behavior to immediately report it to the organization via: info@portopostdoc.com. If the incident occurs during the festival days, the guest coordination team will also always be available to guide and assist any affected individual.

All reports will be handled rigorously, confidentially, and impartially, and may result in:

· Formal warning;
· Immediate revocation of accreditation;
· Denial of access to festival activities and venues;
· Termination of contracts and partnerships;
· Referral to competent authorities in cases of legal seriousness.

ONGOING COMMITMENT

Porto/Post/Doc reaffirms its ongoing commitment to maintaining a healthy, ethical, and responsible professional environment. This Code of Conduct will be regularly reviewed and updated, reflecting the best practices and emerging needs of the film community.
