Arché Porto Pitch

26 NOV - Public Presentation

Organised in collaboration with Apordoc, Arché Porto is a critical and experimental space dedicated to the development of Ibero-American projects with a strong documentary vocation, especially those that inhabit the hybrid zones between reality and fiction. Over five intensive days, participants work in an environment of listening and creation, accompanied by a tutor who encourages reflection on ideas, formal and narrative options, and the multiple paths of each project. More than a space for practical resolution, Arché Porto opens up time and space for creative experimentation.

The selected projects in 2025 are:

. For a Friend Has Come to Me Today, by Rodrigo Montani (Argentina)
. Vicissitudes of Light, by Marcel Beltrán (Brazil, Cuba)
. Volcan, by Luciana Merino Blamey (Chile)
. Idalina, by Patrícia Nogueira (Portugal)
. Our Raised Skin, by Paolo Natale García (Spain)

In 2025, the guest tutor is Nicolás Rincón, a Colombian-Belgian filmmaker whose work blends reality and imagination, with strong political and aesthetic content about his homeland. He directed "Iluminada" and "Tantas almas", which were screened at the San Francisco IFF, Glasgow FF, Camerimage, Brussels IFF, Transilvania IFF, and Marrakech IFF. Previously, he also directed a documentary trilogy entitled ‘Campo Hablado’, consisting of "En lo escondido" (2005) — winner of Cinema du Réel —, "Los abrazos del río" (2010) — selected at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival and ZagrebDox — and "Noche herida" (2015), — winner of Cinema du Réel and the Cartagena de Indias Festival, among others. His projects have been developed in programs such as the San Sebastián Film Festival Co-Production Forum and L'Atelier, Cinefondation de Cannes.
