Cinema Batalha, in Porto, is one of the oldest cinemas still in operation in the world. Director Pedro Lino (author of the documentary Lupo, about the silent film director Rino Lupo) has accompanied the building's refurbishment work over the last three years. By telling the story of this cinema, we are also telling the story of a city and a country. Narrated by the architect Alexandre Alves Costa and the actress Paula Guedes, Vai no Batalha immerses us in the hundreds of stories that this place has to tell us (from Manoel de Oliveira's childhood to Júlio Pomar's historic mural, passing through the figure of architect Artur de Andrade), through rare or even unseen archive footage, old films, contemporary images and much more.
