At the age of nine, Marin Alsop saw a concert directed by Leonard Bernstein. That's when she decided: I'm going to be a conductor! And so she did, against all odds. After great dedication and sacrifice, she became the first woman to lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and later the São Paulo and Vienna Symphony Orchestras. Today she teaches a new generation of conductors that, like she was, have been excluded from the musical canon. A triumphant film against gender discrimination.
