Paulo Rocha returned to the writer Wenceslau de Moraes after "The Island of Love", a film that established an intimate dialogue with "Moraes's Island". To film the life and work of the Portuguese writer who lived in the Far East, Paulo Rocha shot documents and places lived by the writer, confronting them with the texts written by Moraes himself, and with his own film "The Island of Love". This is perhaps one of Paulo Rocha's most personal films and one where he carries his intense admiration for Japan to extremes.
