Chris Petit's iconic film, Radio On is a road movie shot in the late 1970s. Between London and Bristol, the enigmatic Robert, the main character, questions his brother's death in a geographical drift, but also existential. The music of David Bowie in the Berlin stage and Kraftwerk, as well as the black and white by Martin Schafer (director of photography of Wim Wenders, but also of Pedro Costa's The Blood), gives the film a Germanic atmosphere, from the time when West Berlin emerged as the capital of subculture.
