In Content, Chris Petit recaptures the idea of drift of his first film. This is another type of road-movie that meets what we might today call a visual essay, in an experimental approach to film imagery. Images are the form and, at the same time, the objects of a personal reflection on the identity, and of its loss, which also pervades history. The random mosaic of search engine galleries or the multiple voices of the radio that resonate to the disturbance are symptoms of consumer society and technology: "It's in the loop."
