With the end of World War II and the demise of uniforms, in times of prosperity and in a class-divided society, a desire emerges among teenagers to create their own identity. This personal affirmation passes first by the way of dressing, and then by the music, in a continuous interweaving that results in the appearance of various subcultures. This film documents the stories of these different subcultures in the UK with testimonials and archival footage that enthusiastically recall movements such as modernists, soul boys, punks and ravers, and the particularities and influences of each of these styles.
