The world's emigration policies, pertinent and increasingly current theme, are the focal point of this film: I Don't Belong Here follows a group of men and women who, despite Portuguese nationality, lived almost all their life in the USA and Canada, until they are unexpectedly deported to the Azores. Between testimonies of personal episodes and caricatures and the essays for the homonymous piece of the film, we glimpse the social portrait of a group of people to the discovery of their own identity and in the attempt to decode this complex relation between individual and nation.
