PORTUGUESE PREMIERE
Daniel Blaufuks shows us Theresienstadt, a city in the Czech Republic where the children play, the cars pass by, life runs smoothly. We recall Austerlitz (WG Sebald) when we see the great gates to the Jewish Ghetto, the Holocaust ingrained in every stone of the façade. Can a place forget his past? As If presents a new reflection on the concentrationary universe, showing us not only the present place (in many cases, already musealized) but also opposing it with Nazi propaganda film clips about Theresienstadt and fiction films from various sources that romanticize this historical period. The memory is indelible; we must continue to listen to "the endless cry." (Lídia Queirós)
